The Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics has been graciously hosted for several years by the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 2001, Prof. Fred Lieberman suggested to me that I might try to sell some of my books through the site via a link to amazon.com. I thought this might violate some principle of non-profit use, however, so I decided that I would use amazon links to raise money with which to support the site. Even though it's not much money--about $175 in the first year, I feel that I should give the proceeds back to UCSC ultimately. So: I am using the proceeds from any amazon.com links to buy materials (CDs, books) that support the research involved in the Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics. I have established, through the good graces of the McHenry Library at UCSC, a special collection of material I have amassed about the band, and my will specifies that, upon my death, all Grateful Dead material I own will go into this collection.
I hope this allows those of you wishing to support the Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics in some material way to do so in good conscience!
