An evening with one of India’s premier performers of the sarangi (traditional bowed fiddle). Born in 1985, this highly trained classical artist represents a new generation of Indian Classical musicians. Narayan stops at UC Santa Cruz on a U.S. tour this fall. With American tabla player Ty Burhoe, a disciple of tabla maestro Zakir Hussain. Presented with support from the Kamil and Talat Hasan Endowed Chair for Classical Indian Music at UCSC and by the Ali Akbar Khan Endowment for Classical Indian Music
