The Power of the Feminine Voice: Celebrating Women in Jazz

A “two for one” jazz extravaganza celebrating women in jazz, featuring the UCSC Small Jazz Ensembles and the UCSC Jazz Big Band. 

I. UCSC Small Jazz Ensembles, directed by Stan Poplin: program to be announced.  

Intermission

II. UCSC Jazz Big Band, directed by Charles Hamilton: program features special guest Clairdee, international recording/touring vocalist and educator, showcasing songs from the Great American Songbook, plus instrumental big band arrangements from Count Basie, the Buddy Rich Band, and Thelonious Monk.

The Recital Hall has 386 fixed seats and offers space for 5 wheelchairs and guests/companions.
Seating is general/unreserved.
