UCSC Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers
Saturday, November 19, 2016 - 7:30pm
Recital Hall, UCSC Music Center
Presented by:
Music Department

The UCSC Chamber Singers, conducted by Nathaniel Berman, perform works by two great Italian composers separated by three centuries: Claudio Monteverdi and Ottorino Respighi. The program features secular works from Monteverdi's fourth book of madrigals as well as his Magnificat Secondo. Respighi's colorful and lyrical oratorio Lauda per la Nativitá del Signore, for choir, soloists, and chamber ensemble, reflects his admiration and study of Monteverdi's music.
