The UCSC Chamber Singers, directed by Michael McGushin, perform a program of choral treasures from Renaissance Spain and by living composers from the United States and England. The program will includes songs by Juan del Encina that range from comic to tragic, lovelorn to bawdy; a set of sacred masterworks by Esquivel, Guerrero, Morales, and Victoria. Secular choral songs by Juan Vásquez will be interwoven with reinterpretations of these pieces for soprano and piano by the 20th-century Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo. Also included will be works by Daniel Elder, Patrick Hawes, Barbara Kolb, Meredith Monk, Nico Muhly, Judith Weir and Eric Whitacre. With guests Emily Sinclair, soprano, Sheila Willey, soprano, and Colin Hannon, piano.

Ticket window opens 1 hour prior to start for those wishing to pick up tickets in line.
Theater doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance.
We don't want you to miss anything! Patrons not in their seats by 2:55pm risk missing some or all of the first act. Please allow plenty of time.
Allow time to park, purchase a parking permit, pick up tickets at ticket window if needed, and be seated.  If you arrive after the doors close, you will have to wait until intermission or for an appropriate pause in the performance.

The Recital Hall has 386 fixed seats and offers space for 5 wheelchairs and guests/companions.
