UCSC Chamber Singers: Out from the Desert

The UCSC Chamber Singers, under the direction of Michael McGushin, presents a program of choral music inspired by the cultures stemming from the three Abrahamic religious traditions. The program consists of Eric Whitacre's Five Hebrew Love Songs (with violin and piano); W.A. Mozart's Missa Brevis in Bb, KV 275 (with strings and continuo organ); and a mixed set of Arabic-language pieces originating from Sufi, Iraqi, Syrian, and Egyptian sources.
