Megan Prelinger is a cultural historian and archivist. She is the co-founder of the Prelinger Library in San Francisco, an independent research facility that promotes reading, inspiration, and reuse as its ethos. It is a community-oriented space that specializes in unconventional resources and that attracts local and international artists, writers, activists, and other makers. The library houses an extensive collection of 19th- and 20th-century historical ephemera, periodicals, maps, and books, mostly published in the United States. Prelinger is also the author of two books: Another Science Fiction: Advertising the Space Race 1957–1962 and Inside the Machine: Art and Invention in the Electronic Age.
