Concert Choir

Under the direction of Nathaniel Berman, the UCSC Concert Choir performs Gabriel Faure's masterwork, Requiem, in its original 1893 version for choir, small orchestra, and soloists. Faure's Requiem is a gentle, meditative work, nonetheless suffused with the pathos of Faure's personal losses. In speaking about the calm, ethereal affect of his Requiem, Faure said "I see death . . . as a happy deliverance, an aspiration towards happiness above."
