About the CEI program:
As part of the CEI Program, students will be selected and placed into summer internships with leading media, non-profit, and tech partner organizations. After students return from their summer internships, students will be asked to pitch a creative project or idea based on their internship experience and creative practice. CEI will provide additional funds to nurture student projects and give them an entrepreneurial platform that will help students take projects from prototype to market.
Priority for the CEI Program will be given to students who register for the spring Arts Dean`s Lecture Series course (THEA 007). The Arts Deans’ Lecture Series in Creative Entrepreneurship Series features a distinguished roster of arts practitioners, educators, and advocates who provide illuminating insights, practical tools, and personal stories on how to shape an artistic or arts-related career in today’s creative economies. The course consists of ten weeks of in-classroom lectures with guest speakers from within and beyond the university. With the assistance of the moderators, speakers will cover a lively range of topics, ranging from the importance of the entrepreneurial mindset and fundamental marketing skills to transforming a vision into a company and opportunities for artists in civic and commercial enterprise.
