Normalizing Black hair fosters ‘a better ecosystem,’ says game designer

In a journey to create better representation in video games AM Darke, a professor in the Department of Performance, Play & Design, designed a new way of animating Black hair. “A lot of times games are approximating Black hair, but they don’t recognize exactly what details should be attended to fully communicate that this hair was done with care,” Darke says. She is bringing us one step closer to better representation.
