Presented by:
Institute of the Arts and Sciences

Refract: An Open Access Visual Studies Journal and the Institute of Arts and Sciences are hosting a one-night symposium in conjunction with the publication of Refract's second issue, "Translation."

The event will feature short talks by Ronaldo V. Wilson, Mayanthi Fernando, John Jota Leaños, and Rebekkah Dilts—all thinkers from across UC Santa Cruz—to reflect on the diverse ways they use translation as both method and practice, exploring "translation" through themes such as politics, performance, language, and accessibility.

The event is sponsored by Refract: An Open Access Visual Studies Journal and Institute for the Arts and Sciences.
