A very special exhibition of works from the Parkett Collection from the University of Castilla–La Mancha (UCLM) in Cuenca, Spain.

The exhibition will feature approximately 60 selected works from the Parkett Collection housed at the University of Castilla-La Mancha School of Fine Arts and the Contemporary Art Archives & Collections (CAAC), including experimental objects and artifacts by internationally influential contemporary artists.

The Sesnon Gallery at UC Santa Cruz is the only public educational institution in the United States exhibiting this selection of works from the Parkett Collection donated to UCLM in 2009 by the art collector Helga de Alvear in Madrid.

Works by Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Ai Weiwei, Louise Bourgeois, Fischli/Weiss, Katharina Fritsch, Rebecca Horn, Ilya Kabakov, William Kentridge, Yayoi Kusama, Ernesto Neto, Beatriz Milhazes, Meret Oppenheim, Gabriel Orozco, and Sigmar Polke, are among those included in this particular selection from the Parkett Collection.

Opening reception: Wednesday, October 2, 5:00-7:00pm with remarks at 6:00pm. (Parking permits can be purchased from attendants for opening reception.)

Co-curated by Shelby Graham, director of the Sesnon Gallery, and Enrique Leal, assistant professor of art at UC Santa Cruz. Please see our website for related events and workshops in printmaking and zine making in connection with the exhibition.

Parking by permit and at metered spaces in Porter College lots (using ParkMobile app; coins not accepted). After 4:30PM and on weekends, permits are available at the Paystation in Porter Lot 125 (payment card only; no cash). Buses stop nearby at the Rachel Carson and Porter College stops.
