Museo Eduardo Carrillo
Position: Archival Digitization and Curatorial/Museum Intern
Type: Part-Time (15 hrs per week)
Compensation: $15 per hour
Term: Summer 2018 (runs 10 weeks)
Location: Various locations around Santa Cruz, CA
JOB SUMMARY:
- Build Insta/Social Media following: During or prior to the first week develop strategy and timeline plan for the 10 week Insta/Social Media portion of internship, Including all documentation-signing up through Museo(log in and password), how many posts per week and what is the content- images from website with your comments and requesting others to comment and share, referrals to GCI shows, local shows and possibly profiles of local arts leaders; track following; share with FB facilitator so she can cross promote. Museo’s goal is to both gain visibility of MEC and our programs and also support other local Non-Profits by bringing attention to them. YWP, SCAL, MAH, AC, YFIOB, Towson at the Tannery, Pajaro Valley Arts and perhaps Barrios Unidos
- Archive and create data sheets for Museo projects
- Edit artist responses for the Hablamos Juntos series. Archive and create data sheet for various artists using excel
- Survey schools about the adaptation/implementation of curriculum. Create a database for all the web requests that accessed Museo’s curriculum. New submission from Curriculum Guide Request (about 15). Discuss and plan out Outreach to school interested in incorporating curriculum//Pasadena schools to visit museum for EC exhibit/or develop in Santa Clara
- Meet other leaders in Arts Community and other interns.
- Review and write about other local non-profits in the arts.
- Work at Museo and off-site locations for archiving. Legacy work for Eduardo Carrillo and for the Central California Coast Chicano/a Legacy Project
- Gather all publicity from exhibitions and request video of exhibition from PMCA.
- Draft letters for Directors review
- Possible outreach with Self Help Graphic
