ART (SENIOR)

Internship: San Jose Museum of Art

I enjoy seeing an exhibition unfold and come into action, and to be involved in behind-the-scenes work where the blood, sweat, and tears of the project show their worth.

Jayann hopes to one day have her own studio and to provide a comfortable space where community members can join together to share their dreams and goals for the future. Her long-term educational and career objectives include discovering how her interest in arts education can be applied to museum work, so she’s especially enthusiastic about spending her internship at the San Jose Museum of Art.

“I’m excited to be involved in a new art community that is from my hometown,” says Jayann. “Growing up, I remember going into the San Jose Museum of Art and how amazed I was to see all the artwork, and how various parts of the museum intertwined with each other seamlessly. The collaboration between the art was so beautiful.”

When taking a break from studying, Jayann relieves her stress by dancing, painting, and spending time with her friends and family. She also takes time to reflect on her life and figuring out her place in the world. “Art has always and will forever be my outlet to express my emotions.
