Art (Senior)

Internship: California Shakespeare Theater, Berkeley, Calif.

I think anytime we get the chance to immerse ourselves in something we’re truly passionate about, we deepen our connection to ourselves and our true paths. I see this program as giving me one of those opportunities.

A visual artist who enjoys drawing, painting, and sculpting, Juliette also has an extensive background in acting and directing, and is ecstatic to be working with young students during her internship at the renowned California Shakespeare Theater, otherwise known as CalShakes. “I’m delighted to have the chance to make connections at a company that I’ve admired for so long, and hope to form an ongoing relationship with their work,” she says.

What drew Juliette to CEI was the opportunity to explore her entrepreneurial interests and also the outstanding partnerships that are part of the program. “I applied because I felt I had something real to offer,” she says. “I want to forge stronger connections between the different arts departments on campus by putting on annual/semi-annual arts salons.”

When not in school, Juliette loves to read, hike, and swim in rivers. She also enjoys travelling and will be studying in Scotland during the fall 2019 quarter. She is very excited about her upcoming internship. “I’m looking forward to geeking out about acting and Shakespeare for five weeks, and to investing my energy wholeheartedly in the process and production.”
