Internship: Vin Di Bona Productions & Fishbowl Worldwide Media, Los Angeles, Calif.

One of my goals this year was to find an internship that would help me apply and develop new technical skills in a professional environment, and this is exactly what CEI was able to offer me!

Sofia, who is a first generation transfer student, is getting ready to work hands-on alongside television production experts at Vin Di Bona Productions & Fishbowl Worldwide Media, an independent production company founded in 1987 and helmed by Peabody and Emmy-award winning producer Vin Di Bona. The company is known worldwide for producing America’s Funniest Home Videos, the longest-running entertainment show on the ABC network.

“My hope is that this internship will be an eye-opening experience that will help me learn more about the TV production process,” she says. “I want to have more practice creating digital content at a professional level, and as a result build a stronger set of skills that will prepare me for a career in media.”

She’s especially enthusiastic about having mentors in the industry and learning firsthand from their guidance that will contribute to her growth as an artist, as well as put her creativity into practice. Being a part of CEI was the key to striving for this kind of unique opportunity.

When not in school, Sofia is an avid hiker and swimmer and enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending quality time with her dog Logan.

“I was very happy to find out about the CEI program,” she says. “I thought it would be an amazing experience for me to get acquainted with the media and entertainment industries.”
