Tia became interested in CEI due to its focus on giving under-represented individuals opportunities to pursue their goals. “While I had worked in a professional setting prior to CEI, I greatly appreciated the program’s willingness to offer advice on building my resume and how to conduct myself at my new internship,” she says.
As an intern at Impact Creative , a video production and motion design studio that services leading name brands, Tia reflects that her experience there will be invaluable. “I think I will leave UC Santa Cruz with much more confidence in my capabilities, and a deeper understanding of what I want to do after graduating,” she says.
She is most excited about being able to gain experience in exactly the same field that she’s interested in joining after she completes her degree. “Prior to joining CEI, I did not have the opportunity to work in an environment that aligned with my professional goals in the way that my CEI internship does. Getting to see how a studio handles all aspects of their production will make me a much stronger applicant as I go forward.”
