Art Open Studios

Art students explore the power of visual communication for personal expression and public interaction, taking courses that provide practical skills for art production in a variety of media within the contexts of critical thinking and social and environmental perspectives.

Students in AGPM obtain a degree focused on the creation of games as art and activism, focusing on wildly original, creative, expressive games including board games, role playing games, immersive experiences and digital games.

Creative Technologies (CT) is an online interdisciplinary arts and design major. It is the first online undergraduate major program in the UC system.

Film and Digital Media students study the cultural impact of movies, television, video, and the internet and also have the opportunity to pursue creating work in video and interactive digital media, if so desired.

Art installation

HAVC students study the production, use, form, and reception of visual products and cultural manifestations past and present. Objects of study include paintings, sculptures, and architecture, as well as art and non-art objects and visual expressions that sit beyond disciplinary boundaries.

The Music department offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Music (B.M.). The B.A. degree offers concentrations in Compositional Practices, Global Musics, or Western Music. The B.M. degree is designed for music performance students.

The B.A. in Theater Arts offers a background in the theory and practice of theater arts with the opportunity to focus on drama, dance or design as well as studio courses and hands-on production experience.
