Film + Digital Media

Film, entertainment media, and digital media are key technologies of our age and central engines of California’s economy. An investment in media education is a strategic investment in the state and its emerging demographics.

F+DM reflects California’s and the nation’s future, already predominantly BIPOC, first generation college students; many are LGBTQ+, from low-income families, non-traditional backgrounds, often rural. Armed with both technical skills and knowledge about media aesthetics, media industries, and strategies of representation, our students profoundly impact our state, our country and the world. We are the new majority, the new voices, the new storytellers.

Educating a new generation of media makers and scholars who meaningfully disrupt the industry with new perspectives and experiences.
