ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Beth Ferguson is an artist and designer whose practice blends digital fabrication with public art, sustainable transportation, solar engineering, climate resiliency, and public engagement. She is an Associate Professor of Design at the University of California, Davis, and the director of the Adapting City Lab (adaptingcity.org). Ferguson’s solar micromobility charging station work was awarded the Austin Green Award in 2017 for the Austin Energy Electric Drive Solar Kiosk and is now part of the MacArthur BART Mobility Hub project in Oakland, Calif., supported by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Her interdisciplinary work has been exhibited at the Exploratorium Museum, Ars Electronica, Arts Santa Mónica, Dutch Design Week, and she is resident at the San Francisco Autodesk Technology Center.
