Arts Dean Celine Parreñas Shimizu invites students, staff, and faculty of the Arts Division to the second annual fall welcome gathering.

This year's event honors two-time Academy Award-winning production designer Rick Carter (Art, Kresge College, 1974) with the Distinguished Banana Slug Award in the Arts. His films include Amistad, Avatar, Back to the Future, Castaway, Forrest Gump, and Star Wars. Rick will join the dean in person and take part in a conversation with Becky Diaz, a current undergraduate student in Art, and Music Professor Karlton Hester, Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Dean Celine will share her vision for the academic year, and there will be a warm welcome from Lori Kletzer, Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.
