She focuses on higher level research issues that reach across the entire university. Dee works with and supervises the directors of the Arts Research Institute (ARI), the Institute of the Arts and Sciences (IAS) and the Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery. She also consults with the Office of Research and University Relations alongside Dean Celine to help guide Arts Division research. Dee is currently on the Chancellor’s Distinction in Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities Strategic Planning Committee, envisioning the future of research at UCSC and the Chancellors Innovation Awards Nomination and Awards committee, to name just two of many committees. Faculty queries regarding the galleries can be directed to Louise Leong, museum preparator of the Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery, and , Rachel Nelson, director and chief curator at the Institute of the Arts and  Sciences. Faculty queries regarding individual funding, research support, and research centers should be directed to ARI’s executive director Holly Unruh and/or ARI’s research analyst Hannah Jasper. Larger scale initiatives and support should also go through Holly, who will bring these to Dee’s attention for discussion with the Dean.
