The Romance of the Roses
Written by: J. Byeloluvski
Directed by: Paul Rossi
This play reaches back to the original fairytales to tell a cautionary tale of love and magic. When Rosa and her wealthy sweetheart Tristan become engaged, she thinks her dreams have come true. Her class-obsessed future mother-in-law, however, immediately sets about sabotaging the romance with the intention of finding someone (and some dowry) suitable for her son.
A Roomba with a View
Written by: Alex Doble
Directed by: Jen Schuler
A tragicomedy for six to seven actors, it's The Brave Little Toaster meets Romeo and Juliet with a cappella musical numbers thrown in. When a woman is systematically neglected by her partner and fellow hotelier, she finds solace in a new friend – the robotic vacuum cleaner. Joined by a selection of other appliances, including a sassy, sardonic toaster, a bro deep fryer, a valley girl Panini press, and a malicious blender, she is taken on a whirlwind tour of self-discovery.
