I want to grow and learn as an artist and legitimize my goals, and the CEI program looked, sounded, and felt like it would do that for me.
Ayelesha was initially attracted to the CEI program because she was intrigued by the seemingly limitless opportunities the program has to offer. She was also impressed by not only the accessibility of CEI, but because it would enable her to learn much more about her chosen field of study.
As an intern at ITVS, in San Francisco, which partners with independent filmmakers to help fund their documentary films, she’s eager to obtain her long-term educational goals of gaining more knowledge and experience in film production and distribution. “I am looking forward to working closely with well-established professionals and also networking, and learning as much as I can,” she says. “I want to incite action for change from the viewers of my work and I believe ITVS will take my understanding above and beyond.”
Ayelesha also enjoys reading and writing poetry and likes to stay physically active. Her favorite pastime is to explore new places in California. “Being from Florida, I am also very excited to be interning in San Francisco! It really feels like a dream.”
