Funomena - Position #1

Position: Production Intern

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $20 per hour

Term: Summer 2019

Location: San Francisco, CA

JOB SUMMARY:

In this role you will get experience in a variety of production tasks ranging from setting up, running and testing builds of in-development games, taking notes in meetings, and working with producers, designers and team leads to track and execute tasks. You may also be asked to create screenshots, gifs and other marketing materials from our games. The ideal candidate will exhibit punctuality, attention to detail, be comfortable communicating face to face with new people, and be comfortable making decisions in real time, under uncertainty, and be open to receiving critical feedback.

The Funomena Twenty Percent - At Funomena we have a goal of having all our interns spend a portion of their time (20%) on whatever aspects of game development they’d like to focus on, even if it’s outside of their core discipline. Past interns have used this time being mentored by senior team members, creating assets, concepting game designs, and even creating children’s books.

Requirements:

  • Major in Art, Games & Playable Media (AGPM)
  • Strong written & oral communications skills
  • Basic technical knowledge of communication, tracking and creative software (Word, Google Docs, Photoshop, Slack),
  • Experience capturing, tracking and prioritizing tasks
  • Experience in Unreal and/or Unity a plus

Funomena - Position #2

Position: Art Intern

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $20 per hour

Term: Summer 2019

Location: San Francisco, CA

JOB SUMMARY:

In this role you will get experience in art related tasks ranging from concept, illustration, modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation. You may also be asked to help create screenshots, gifs and other marketing materials for our games. The ideal candidate will exhibit punctuality, attention to detail, creative problem solving thought processes, strong communication skills, and be open to receiving critical feedback.

FUNOMENA - Position #3

Position: Engineering Intern

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $20 per hour

Term: Summer 2019

Location: San Francisco, CA

JOB SUMMARY:

Engineering interns at Funomena get hands-on experience prototyping game features and developing tools. You will receive feedback through code reviews with other engineers and design reviews with the whole team. You may be asked to work in C++, C#, or Python depending on the project. The ideal candidate will exhibit punctuality, attention to detail, be comfortable communicating face to face with new people, and be comfortable making decisions in real time, under uncertainty, and be open to receiving critical feedback.
