Moderated by current first-generation students, this panel discussion features first-generation alumni and a walk-through of the Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery's virtual exhibition, First Generation Arts Alumni, commemorating the gallery's 50th anniversary. Introductions by Porter College Provost Gerald Casel

This exhibition seeks to raise the visibility of first-generation arts alumni and students at UC Santa Cruz by highlighting their narratives, possibilities, and strengths through their work. This is an opportunity to recognize the challenges and unique gifts that they bring to the university and the arts.

The Sesnon Speak Up series aims to provide a safe space for students and the UC Santa Cruz community to engage with critical ideas generated from the programmed exhibitions at the Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery at UCSC.
